These terms apply to every purchase made through ahalives.com (the “Shop”), operated by Komorebi, Tokyo, Japan (“we”, “us”). By placing an order you agree to them. They are written in plain language on purpose.
1. Orders
An order is an offer to buy. We accept it when we send the shipping confirmation, not the order confirmation. We may decline an order, for example if an item is out of stock, a price was clearly listed in error, or we cannot ship to your address; in that case we refund anything you have paid in full.
2. Prices and payment
All prices are in US dollars and exclude shipping, which is shown at checkout, and any import duties or taxes charged in the destination country. Payment is due at the time of order. Bank-transfer orders are held for 7 days awaiting payment and cancelled if it does not arrive.
3. Shipping and risk
We ship from Tokyo with tracked services as described on the shipping page. Delivery times are estimates. Risk of loss passes to you on delivery; if a parcel is lost or damaged in transit, we replace or refund it as set out in our returns policy.
4. Returns
Our returns policy forms part of these terms. Nothing in it limits any statutory rights you have as a consumer in your country of residence.
5. Products
Many of our products are handmade. Small variations in glaze, grain, colour and size are part of what they are and are not defects. We describe each item as accurately as we can; if something does not match its description, tell us and we will put it right.
6. Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your account password secure and for activity under your account. You can delete your account at any time by emailing us.
7. Intellectual property
The text, photographs and design of the Shop belong to us or our makers and may not be reused without permission. Product names of individual workshops remain their property.
8. Liability
Our liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it, except where the law does not allow such a limit, for example for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
9. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in your local courts.
