Imabari, on the island of Shikoku, makes towels the way other towns make wine: with soft local water, slow looms and a certification mark that requires a towel to sink within five seconds when placed on water. This one is woven from long-staple cotton with a low-twist pile, so it is both absorbent and quick to dry.
Generously sized at 70 × 140 cm. Wash before first use; it will become softer and fluffier over the first few washes.
