Igusa rush has been woven into tatami mats for over a thousand years because it breathes, absorbs humidity and smells gently of hay. Ninety-five percent of Japan’s igusa is grown in Kumamoto, where this cushion is made. The woven top is filled with a firm cotton pad and bordered in indigo cotton.
Use it on the floor, on a wooden chair or by a low table. 55 × 55 cm, about 5 cm thick.
