Furoshiki is the oldest form of reusable packaging in Japan: a square cloth folded and knotted around whatever needs carrying. These are printed in Kyoto on a mid-weight cotton that holds a knot well and softens with use.
The 70 cm cloth wraps a book, a bottle or a bento box; the 90 cm cloth wraps larger gifts or ties into a shoulder bag. Each comes with an illustrated card showing six wrapping techniques.
